The gentle art of Blessing
If you get nothing else from the words that I write, then this is perhaps the most significant tool that can help change your life!
Blessings and prayers are similar in that they convey a specific vibration of energy that is both personal and Universal at once.
Personal because you are offering it on the level of the one presenting in front of you, and Universal because of the effect that leads beyond the immediate moment, spreading to the furthest edge of consciousness.
A blessing is something that you offer to a being, situation, thought and practically any possibility you could imagine for their highest good. Whether it is to heal, provide joy, support, or, again, most anything you can dream of you are doing it for a positive reason or outcome.
The words can be whatever you feel drawn to using; they do not have to be biblical or flowery, just words that you align with, so think about what you say; it really matters!
To come back to the similarities between blessings and prayers I think it an opportune time to look at the metaphysics of what is taking place.
As with most things we are always working with energy in one form or another, and to bless, or for that matter curse, is utilising energy available to everyone.
With most things that are being offered for a greater good, the motivation for the act comes from the heart and not the head, and vice versa for harming in the case of using a curse.
What I would like to offer you is why most of the well-meaning blessings that are given are that for the most part, they are being provided for the future and not the present.
If you change the thought that goes with the energy to be one of having already achieved or accomplished the blessing, or more to the point the energy that is the blessing, can start working immediately.
Energy is just energy. It is not intelligent to the point of knowing what you wish to do with it, and it will always take the route of least resistance to be of use, so guidance or at least a destination is always advised.
So again coming back to the similarities, always use the present to be the focal point or destination, unless you need to send a prayer or blessing to your future, or for that case past!
