If you were to be asked the question, “who are you?” how would you respond?

Many would answer with a description of things that they had either been given, thought that they fitted at the moment, or would like them to be. But would any of them be who they are?

The title of this blog “who you are before you became ” is the one question that many ask but do not know how to answer, just because we are using something that cannot give you the answer, and that is the mind!

If you truly desire the truth behind this question, that once asked may change your life beyond your comfort zone, would you ask?

If so, then let’s begin!

What you are about to use is a collection of words that you can only gain benefit from if you answer with honesty.

Do not think about what is required or what another would say, just be in the moment!

What follows is not about what you believe, but what you can truly say you experience. Just make sure that you can tell the difference.

Do not rush through these words. Each line must be considered for it to be effective.

You may decide that part way through you have to stop, and that is okay. You can come back and begin again as many times as required to break through, but you must always start from the beginning.

So if you are anywhere near ready, let’s start!

As with most practices here is the checklist to attend to.

  • Turn of your mobile
  • Make sure you will not be disturbed or distracted
  • Be comfortable

Let us begin

I am sitting here; my heart is beating.

Is my happiness dependant upon another?

Who is hearing the sounds outside?

Are you a religion or belief system?

Are you breathing?

This moment is the end of suffering.

Who is guiding you?

You are not this body.

Are you this mind.

Who is looking through your eyes?

Can you feel the stars?

Are you your name?

You are an extension of the creative force!

Are you and awareness the same thing?

Fear is part of the mind, not you.

What would happen if you let go?

You are close, but awareness is Divinely intimate.

Behind your eyes is the eternity, death does not exist.

My aversions and likes are not me, I am just wearing them.

I am aware of everything within the Universe, nothing is separate from me!

This moment is unique and will never be repeated.

Can you find you?

There is nowhere to go but within!

Feel the world revolving beneath you.

I am pure awareness; it is not something separate!

These thoughts are not real or mine!

I transcend my body every time I breathe.

My mind no longer controls my actions!

Every moment is an opportunity to awake, and I grasp each one!

After you have digested these words and experienced the answers it would not be possible to be the same being that began with the word “I am”.

Now you can truly say

I AM!

This and other practices are key to releasing the grip of limitation, but always the most important word is practice. Otherwise, it becomes a belief in something and not the experience of it!

Dean Creedy has been a spiritual seeker for over 40 years and has had a focus on the path of the yogic traditions for nearly 25. He was drawn to the mystical and metaphysical side of the Indian and Eastern traditions, gaining deeper understanding through the grace of teachers and masters upon the path. In 2003 he became part of these traditions by initiation and adopting and embracing his spiritual name.
Dean trained to become a yoga teacher in India and Perth, Western Australia and from the turn of the new millennium offered regular classes, workshops and retreats, covering all aspects of yogic life.
In 2007 Dean and Melanie were drawn to a tree change in Southern Tasmania, creating an environment where they could achieve a deeper understanding of their respected fields and paths.
Earlier this year (2018) a calling to move to the NW of Tasmania has deepened their understanding of their individual and joint life path. It was also during this time that Dean’s true guide and Master reappeared.
Dean’s approach to the spiritual path and all the pitfalls and challenges is a practical and grounded one, sidestepping the often airy nature of current trends, and always looking for balance in all things.
